Trade Shows - A trade show in an event with a variety of vendors (exhibitors) all with in a specific "trade" or industry.
Expositions - An exposition or "expo" is an event that is usually open to the general public. This event consists primarily of booth spaces with an array of vendors, exhibitors and sponsors. Often times there will also be a variety of seminars.
Conventions - A convention is where large groups of like-minded people convene to announce various changes and updates with the organization or state of the industry type news.
Conferences - A conference is an event where people meet to confer, and discuss issues on topics of interest and importance to the groups and individuals that are involved.
Fairs - The fair is similar to a carnival, but on a larger scale. It usually involves various rides and games and other entertainment type attractions along with a wide variety of food selections.
Festivals - A festival is usually a celebration of some sort for a specific memorial or tradition. Festivals are often themed events designed around a specific cultural or societal belief or tradition.
City Celebrations - A city celebration is a community function held to bring together members of the community in a social celebratory fashion. A city celebration will also involve many of the community services such as the fire and police department, the local Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Bureau, Jaycees, Kiwanis, VFW, and America Legion groups etc.
Seminars - Seminars are similar to lectures, where a special keynote speaker is presenting their expertise on a specific topic of interest for educational, inspirational an motivational purposes.
Workshops - This type of event is similar to a seminar and/or class with the elements of education and information except the attendees are actively participating in the workshop.
Classes - Classes are usually lead by an instructor of teacher, and the attendees are expected to listen and learn. There will also be some interaction with the asking of questions, and perhaps a quiz and/or tests.
Parties - A party is like a small festival or celebration. Often times around a single individual or family.
Concerts - This type of event is usually related to musical entertainment.
Ceremony - A ceremony is an event of ritual significance, performed on a special occasion.
